The Canteiro de Obras [Work site] program was designed with the mission to record and enhance the reflection on the creative work and production of dance presentations in Brazil. To this end, every year the São Paulo Companhia de Dança joins TV Cultura to produce a documentary telling the company’s own history.

To make these documentaries, program director Inês Bogéa collects information on the productions, education programs, heritage recordings, performances and statements given during the year by people involved in SPCD projects. The series Canteiro de Obras is not available for sale. It is distributed on a complimentary basis to cultural and educational institutions, in particular to public libraries, as well as universities and NGOs.
